Decorating for Christmas

Decorating for Christmas

Inspired by the lovely rubyshoesday over the road on Market Street (who incidentally celebrated their 10th birthday this weekend - congratulations!), I started to bring the shop window into the festive season. I wasn't quite brave enough to put the christmas tree out of my own accord! ;-) The part of the display I'm most excited about are our new wreaths and decorations by Anna Wiscombe, which are available online too, here.

Making November Cosy

Making November Cosy

I know I don't have to tell you this, but it has just got very cold and very dark quite suddenly. I have to admit to having had a few gloomy mornings last week, but as the days go on I become more positive. This time of year has it's upsides too. The colours are magnificent, and we have been presented with an opportunity to spend more time at home with the people we love, recuperating, lighting the fire (or at least a candle!), cooking comforting meals and wrapping up in blankets. We get more time to reflect on the...

Radiance reopening 10th September 2016!

Radiance reopening 10th September 2016!

We had such a lovely day welcoming friends and customers into the refurbished shop, and to share our new (and old and loved) selection of products by designers and makers in the UK and beyond. Taylor brought some homemade cardamom buns and her gorgeous smile, and we built up quite a collection of beautiful congratulations cards, including one from Heart Gallery down the road - a painting of our very own Market Street by Claire Caulfield. So relieved. We hope to go from strength to strength following the (rather major) set back of the flooding. With the help of the...

How we are contributing to Watermark Calderdale

How we are contributing to Watermark Calderdale

Watermark Calderdale is a not-for-profit, community-led campaign based on honesty and generosity, for building a resilience fund for our towns for future flooding. Their aim is to build a pot of money that can be accessed by businesses & households immediately when future floods hit (because let's face it they will – maybe in 5 years time, maybe next week!). The campaign is a joint venture between Totally Locally & Community Foundation for Calderdale. At Radiance, we have decided to that from July onwards, we will donate 5% of all sales of Hannah Nunn lamps, on the Radiance website and in our Market Street shop to the...

Planning the shop post-flood

Planning the shop post-flood

We had such a successful and exciting planning session today after going to see progress in the shop. The plastering has been done, we have some exceptionally beautiful skirting boards(!?), the floor will be down soon (this time tiles... that look like wood!) and then the proper fun can begin. Mind maps are the answer to everything.
